November
Newsletter
As the weather turns crisp and the final stretch of the semester approaches, November at Urban International School has been all about new beginnings, preparation, and growth. From welcoming new students to hosting important academic and health initiatives, this month reminded us that learning extends far beyond the classroom.
Fresh Starts and New Opportunities
New Semester
This November marked the start of a brand-new semester at UIS! Students returned with renewed energy, ready to take on new subjects, meet new teachers, and set fresh academic goals. The campus has been buzzing with motivation as everyone settles into their routines and prepares for
another successful term. It兒s been inspiring to see our students embracing new challenges with such positivity and enthusiasm〞proof that every
semester brings new chances to learn and grow.
Caring for Our Community
Vaccine Clinics
Measles Vaccination (November 18th): UIS partnered with Toronto
Public Health to host an on-site measles vaccination clinic. Students had the opportunity to get vaccinated conveniently at school, helping ensure our community stays healthy and protected. A big thank-you to all who participated!
Seasonal Influenza (Flu) Vaccination (November 28th): To help students stay healthy during the winter months, UIS hosted an on-site flu vaccine clinic administered by a licensed pharmacist. Understanding that it can be challenging for international students to get a flu shot on their own, we were glad to provide this convenient opportunity. It was wonderful to see so many students taking steps to protect themselves and contribute to a safer, healthier UIS community!
Taking the Next Step Toward Success
IELTS at UIS
On Saturday, November 22nd, UIS proudly hosted an in-house IELTS exam exclusively for our students. This exciting opportunity allowed
students to take this important English proficiency test in a familiar and comfortable environment. With dedicated preparation and guidance from our teachers, many students felt confident walking into the exam room〞one more step closer to achieving their university dreams.
Meeting Graduation Requirements
OSSLT Exam
From November 24th to 27th, our Grade 10 and eligible students participated in the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), an important milestone on the path to graduation. Teachers and staff worked closely with students to ensure they felt supported and prepared for success. We兒re proud of their hard work and dedication as they continue to meet key academic goals and move closer to earning their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
