UIS Summer Immersion Program Has Begun!
Summer doesn’t mean slowing down; at UIS, it means learning in a whole new way.
This month, UIS officially launched its Summer Immersion Program, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our new summer students! Unlike a traditional summer program, the UIS Summer Immersion Program is designed to help students build real English skills through the Ontario academic curriculum. The program combines language learning with subject-specific vocabulary across reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It’s a 2-in-1 learning experience unlike anything else.

Team Canada's Historic World Cup Journey
Toronto was at the heart of one of the most exciting moments in Canadian soccer history — and we felt every moment of it.
As co-hosts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Canada delivered a historic run that captured the hearts of fans across the country. It all kicked off right here in Toronto on June 12th, when Canada faced Bosnia & Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium in a thrilling 1-1 draw — the same match our UIS community watched together last month, cheering on every play.
From there, the momentum only grew. Canada went on to record a stunning 6-0 win over Qatar in Vancouver before falling 2-1 to Switzerland. Still, the team advanced to the Round of 32, where Canada secured a nail-biting 1-0 victory over South Africa to advance to the Round of 16 for the first time ever. Canada’s World Cup journey ultimately came to an end with a 3-0 loss to Morocco in Houston — but what a journey it was.
This represents the best-ever performance for a Canadian men’s team that hadn’t won a single game at a senior men’s World Cup prior to this year. Toronto and all of Canada had so much to be proud of — and we were right there cheering every step of the way. Merci, l’équipe Canada!
